Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Enjoying Spring!

Since Rod can get into a wheelchair now, he decided to go outside today and soak up some sun on the first day of Spring!

This week they are going to evaluate and hopefully schedule the removal of Rod's feeding tube and trach. The trach will likely be traded out for a smaller size while it heals until it can eventually be taken out altogether while the feeding tube can just be removed all at once. They are thinking they may be able to do it at LDS and save Rod a trip but they won't know for sure for a few days.
