Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Decisions

Rod is still scheduled for surgery early Wednesday morning on his right ankle. He has decided to fuse it at this point. Doctors are still waiting for the infection to clear in his left ankle before they can work on it. After the surgery, he will stay at the University Hospital for about 7 days.

Thank you all again for your support, visits, and prayers. The calls of concern and many acts of service have touched everyone in the family. Your help does make a difference and we really appreciate it. Thanks.
