Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Fun with Jack

Rod received good news today that the bacteria in his lungs has been clearing up and that it doesn't pose a threat to others anymore!  So Sara was able to bring Jack to see Rod, but this time it was a lot more fun!  Jack rode around in Rod's wheelchair, sat in his lap on the bed and just relaxed with his Dad.  It was especially fun for Rod's neighbors who aren't use to seeing a baby in the halls.  They had a great time watching Jack and his Dad cruise the halls.

  1. I love love love this post! The first picture of Rod and Jack looking at each other is so precious. I'm so glad they are finally able to spend some time together. Having little Jack around will speed up Rod's recovery I am sure.
