Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Napping, News and Knees


As you can see, Rod has been enjoying having Jack around again and Jack has been loving being around his daddy!

Rod had an appointment with his bone/joint surgeon to evaluate how things were healing. His wrist has healed well so he can stop wearing the brace and use it as much as he wants. He has lost some range of motion and he will work on that in therapy. The tendons in his right knee need to be replaced which means he will have another knee surgery after the rods and wires are removed from his right foot. His left knee is not healing particularly well either and doctors are thinking they may need to do a knee replacement. They are giving him another month to give is body a chance to heal before they make a final decision. Fortunately though, he does not need to use his knee brace anymore and doctors have said he may start to bear weight in his left leg sometime this month. Rod was really hoping to be done with major surgeries and hospitals but it looks like there is more work to be done.

    This picture made my day. I am so grateful how much progress Rod has made. Not a day goes by that I don't have him, Sara, and Jackson in my thoughts. I'm sure the entire Bullfrog community feels the same. Thank you so much for the blog posts!
