Fortunately, this procedure did not require an extended hospital stay and Rod has been back home recovering. He is unable to unwrap or move his leg for 2 weeks and he is anxious for that time to be over so he can get moving again.
Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.
On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Lucky 13
Over a week ago, Rod had his 13th surgery. This was the last major surgery planned in a long list of needed repairs. As of right now, there are no further surgeries that he needs that we know of!
The surgery performed replaced or reconstructed 2 major ligaments in his right knee. He also had more screws and another plate removed from his jaw. After the procedure, he had to have the knee constantly iced but the machine would not work unless Rod held the cooler above his head. The repair to his knee required ligaments from a donor, for which Rod was very grateful. He was happy to be able to write a thank you letter to the donor's family.
Fortunately, this procedure did not require an extended hospital stay and Rod has been back home recovering. He is unable to unwrap or move his leg for 2 weeks and he is anxious for that time to be over so he can get moving again.
