Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Baby Jack made his first grand appearance at Rod's side today! It was a neat event for Rod and Sara to finally have the whole family back together. Rod also made some great progress today. He was officially moved from the Surgical ICU to the Intermediate ICU. He was given a voice box that is affixed to his throat which now lets him speak effortlessly. After the procedure was completed Rod called his Dad, Steve, and said hello. Doctors did determine that his right arm will require surgery so they have placed that on the "to-do" list along with his legs. We're hoping for these surgeries to begin within the next week.

The last 10 days have been absolutely amazing! It has been incredible and miraculous to see the improvement Rod has made and the speed at which he did it. There is no doubt in our minds that we have all been highly blessed...
