Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

The Funny Guy

Overall, Rod had a good day today. He was much more comfortable and even slept most of the day. When Derrick went to visit, Rod asked him to move his leg for him but when Derrick went to help, Rod surprised him by lifting the leg himself! Later when the nurse was struggling to give something through the feeding tube, Rod had to help her and tell her how to do it correctly. He should have an honorary medical degree by the time he's discharged with all the things he's learning and experiencing.
