Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.

On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

Rod had another quiet day. Today however, is the first day that he has had any back pain. It seems that now the pain in his legs is more controlled he's noticing other areas that bother him. The wound vacs on his legs were changed today and the nurses and doctors say that it looks as though the infection is clearing a little and things are looking good. The swelling in his legs is also going down and they are thinking that surgery will not be needed at this point to clean out the infection. It is possible that he may be transferred to LDS sometime this weekend.
