Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.
On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!

More of the Same
Rod has had another quiet, more comfortable day which is nice after the few days of pain that he had. Nothing has changed much in his care or condition other than he got a new heavy-duty IV tonight for his new heavy-duty antibiotics. It took over 7 needle sticks for the nurses to insert his last IV so this one should be more comfortable and effective. Otherwise, he's getting much needed therapy and rest.
