Rod works very hard with his physical therapist and is even making friends with them. Although it is very painful for him, he asks them to return often and work him hard. He was able to actually sit up today...twice! It took a lot of time and effort and recovery afterward, but he did great. In fact, he was so busy with therapy and doctors, the wound nurse could hardly find time to work with him and his family hardly got to talk to him. Who knew you could work so hard when you can't even leave your bed?
Rod used to call himself Rodelda and to this day no one knows why. He has a wide variety of interests and hobbies including history (particularly the civil war), camping, Glee (this is strictly confidential:), astronomy, animals, Frank Sinatra, fishing, and playing video games. He is an avid reader of all genres but particularly enjoys fantasy, science fiction, and historical novels.
On January 28, 2012, while driving a moving truck, Rod's vehicle left the road and fell roughly 100 feet onto the train tracks below. It is a miracle that he survived and we find many more miracles as he continues on his quest toward recovery. He has already undergone multiple surgeries to repair breaks and injuries and will have many more in the weeks to come. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers in Rod, Sara, and Jack's behalf. We truly appreciate them and you!
